The purpose of this policy and procedure is to set out how Empowering Connection:

• provides a safe workplace
• minimises risks to the health and wellbeing of staff, participants, families, carers and other stakeholders and
• promotes health and safety practices consistent with legislative requirements.

This policy and procedure applies to all stakeholders, including participants, families and carers, advocates, staff, volunteers, contractors, other service providers, government agencies and members of the community.

It meets relevant legislation, regulations and standards.

Work health and safety programs align with AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Indicators

• Risks to the organisation, including participant, financial and work health and safety risks, are identified, analysed, prioritised and treated.
• A documented risk management system is in place and is relevant and proportionate to the size and scale of the provider and the scope and complexity of supports delivered.
• The risk management system covers:

o incident management

o complaints management and resolution

o financial management

o governance and operational management
