The purpose of this policy and procedure is to ensure the safe use of vehicles by staff while undertaking work for Empowering Connection and to minimise the risk of injury, accidents or damage.

This policy and procedure applies to all staff who:

• use Empowering Connection vehicles or
• use their own vehicle for work-related purposes.

This policy meets relevant legislation, regulations and standards and should be read in conjunction with the Work Health and Safety Policy and Procedure.

Definitions

Work-related driving

Any driving undertaken in the course of work duties, including transporting participants or travelling between work locations.

Fit for purpose

A vehicle that is safe, roadworthy, registered and suitable for the task being undertaken.
